Don Thomas
The Rotary Club of Cape Coral Goldcoast
Don was born in Rochester, New York. He was educated through Cornell University and Sterling Institute. He spent six years in the New York Army National Guard. He married his childhood sweetheart, Sue. Together they have two daughters, two sons-in-law, one grandson, and three granddaughters.
In 1995 Don went to work with Kraft Foods Global. Don has received the Kraft Sales Leadership Award four times. This award is a symbol of superior achievement within the Kraft sales organization.
He is a Charter Member of the Rotary Club of Cape Coral Goldcoast, was the Charter Secretary, and is a Past President of his club. Don has been honored twice by being awarded the Rotarian of the Year. He was Assistant Governor 2002-2003 and 2003-2004. Presently he is working at the District level as: District Sergeant-at-Arms, member of the Finance Committee, Member of the Ambassadorial Scholarship Committee and is a Rotary Leadership Institute District Chairman & Discussion Leader Trainer and recently was appointed Rotary Leadership Institute International Discussion Leadership Trainer. In 2008 he was honored to receive the District Service Above Self award.
Don has worked with Group Study Exchange since 1989. He was Team Leader to Australia in February / March 2003. He was District Chairman for Group Study Exchange from 2003 through 2009.
Don is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow, Sustaining Member, and both Sue and Don are benefactors. Sue is also a Paul Harris Fellow and Honorary Member of the Rotary Club of Cape Coral Goldcoast.
He has represented District 6960 at the RI Zone 34 Regional Rotary Foundation and Membership Seminars at RI Headquarters in Evanston, Illinois. Don is presently on the Zone 33-34 Caribbean Partnership Committee.
