District Governor Nominee

Steve SchlueterStephen F. (Steve) Schlueter
The Rotary Club of Anna Maria Island

A Rotarian since 1998 with the classification of Manufacturing – Contract Electrical, Steve Schlueter has been blessed with several “Rotary Moments”.  Those moments have inspired Steve to serve Rotary beyond the Club, a journey he finds rewarding and fascinating.  Steve’s current focus is The Rotary Foundation, but he enjoys all aspects of being a Rotarian.  He has twice been President of his Club and is a Past Assistant Governor for District 6960 in Area 11. He has served on the District Finance Committee, District Simplified Grants Committee, the District Training Team, the Board of Rotary's Camp Florida, the Board of Florida PETS and has Chaired the District’s Ambassadorial Scholarship Committee.  In 2010 Steve served as Captain of his Class for Zones 33 & 34 at the Zone Institute.  Steve and his Rotarian wife Pam are members of the Rotary Club of Anna Maria Island, Major Donors, members of the Bequest Society, Benefactors, multiple Sustaining Members, Charter Members of the District’s Paul Harris Society, and Discussion Leaders for the Rotary Leadership Institute - Sunshine Division.

Steve built a career in the manufacturing sector after serving three years in the Army, including one year in Vietnam.  Since 1990, he has owned a contract electrical manufacturing company which has had operations in both the United States and Mexico.  Its current headquarters is in Mayville, Wisconsin.  Steve is now semi-retired and is grateful for the wonders of technology that allow him to telecommute from sunny Florida.

Steve loves to fish, cook and read and is passionate about music.  He enjoys playing bass guitar, especially in the classic rock and pop genres.  Steve was born in the Milwaukee suburb of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin and lived in Southeastern Wisconsin until 2002 when the Schlueters moved to the Bradenton, Florida area, where they currently reside.  Steve and Pam have four children and three grandchildren.
